Kiwanis Festival April 24th!

Our Senior Band is going to head to head with some of Ottawa’s biggest Music programs on Tuesday April 24th at the Kiwanis Music Festival.  Last year we won gold, so we are aiming to repeat that!

Senior Band members need to book this date off.  We will be having a short rehearsal after school that day, and then we will head to the festival (at Sacred Heart in Stittsville).  PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

Disney Tour A Success!

Walkathon Raises $12,000!

Congratulations to all who participated in our first annual Senior Band walkathon.  On an absolutely gorgeous day, we managed to raise over $11,000!  In fact, now that all donations are in, the total is $12,000!  Mr. Stuart would like to thank all volunteers who helped organize the fund, and all those who took time to walk with us.  We have now raised over $27,000 which puts us well on our way towards our target of $35,000.

Excellent work, everyone!

Music for Miracles Raises $4000!

Congratulations to The RetroActives for their excellent work on Friday, June 10th.  Not only did we sell out “Music for Miracles”, but we also managed to raise $4000 for the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital!  Mr. Stuart extends his sincere thanks to all band members, to those who made donations to the silent auction, and to everyone who bought tickets to the event.  Also, thank you to everyone who helped behind the scenes with moving equipment etc.

Gold!

Congratulations to our Senior Band, who won Gold at the Ottawa Kiwanis Music Festival on Monday, April 18th!  Mr. Stuart appreciates all of your hard work and commitment.

It has been an incredible year for us, especially considering that we also got accepted at Disney.  Now, let’s have a fantastic trip to Boston, and a great concert on May 10!  The revised Boston itinerary is here.

Success! We Did It!

Congratulations to our Senior Concert Band for successfully passing the audition to play at Disney next year!  Mr. Stuart is proud of all of the hard work band members put into getting ready for this audition.  We’ll be travelling to Disney in early February of 2012–stay tuned for more details about dates, fundraising etc.  The Senior Band and Grade 9 Music students will be eligible to participate in this fantastic experience!
